SMI 420B Evaporators

SMI Produced Water Evaporation Technologies

SMI has two main categories of evaporators for produced water treatment:

1) Water fracturing - water stream is fractured through a high speed fan and propelled into the air

2) Water atomization - air is compressed via a fan through a tapered barrel and propels controlled-size water droplets created via nozzles

Water Fracturing Evaporation Equipment

Our product line for water fracturing is the SMI 420 Evaporator Series. The 420 Series fractures the water stream and propels the water droplets forward into the air. SMI has models for both low and high corrosive environments.

This family of products is best used for the following conditions:

bulletSmaller area required for evaporation and wet or dry drift containment

bulletHigh solids or large particulate size

Water Atomization Evaporation Equipment

Our water atomization line is the SMI PoleCat family of products. PoleCats atomize water through nozzles and efficiently throw water spray anywhere from 100 to 300 feet (30 to 90 meters). The machines operate best at operating pressures between 80 and 120 psi (5 to 8 bar). An optional water filter is available to help with pre-filtering. SMI has models for both low and high corrosive environments.

This family of products is best used for the following conditions:

bulletLarger area for evaporation and wet or dry drift

bulletLower dissolved solids content and smaller to no particles*

For information on each specific configuration, follow the links below:

*Filters designed for high particle or high dissolved solids can be utilized
